Biography

Dr. Avinash Chandra is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala. A distinguished researcher in chemical engineering, he specializes in fluid dynamics and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). His research focuses on optimizing chemical processes by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), while also investigating fluid flow, heat transfer, and transport phenomena in porous media. Dr. Chandra has made significant contributions to the understanding of non-Newtonian fluids, industrial-scale residence time distribution (RTD) analysis, and the use of radiotracer techniques for process optimization. His work also spans polymer coatings and the extraction and application of essential oils in various industries.

Currently, Dr. Chandra is leading cutting-edge research at the intersection of AI, ML, and chemical engineering, applying these advanced technologies to enhance process efficiency and foster innovation. With a deep commitment to merging computational methods with engineering principles, his interdisciplinary approach continues to drive progress and push the boundaries of chemical engineering. In addition, Dr. Chandra serves as the Guest Editor for several prestigious international journals, further demonstrating his leadership and contributions to advancing research in his field.
